Polkadoodles - #43 AAG
QKR Stampede - #406 AAG
The Paper Shelter - #446 Halloween Colors
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Lots of Layers

It's supposed to get down into the low 30's for the next couple of days. It was a chilly, windy day today.

I made this card with the Sunny Studios Happy Owl-o-ween dies and stamps and the Pretty Pumpkins layering stamps and dies and I can't remember where I got the trees die from. The base card is an odd size 5 7/16" square, because I cut the tree dies and then made the base around them with about 1 1/2" space at the bottom. I used blending brushes to make the back ground colors of green yellow, orange and pink with Memento dew drop inks. I stamped and colored the owls with my copics then die cut them. I stamped and layered the pumpkins, again, with the yellow and orange family of Memento inks, then used my copics to give them hilights, and cut them out. I cut a pc of burlap and glued the edges to keep them from fraying and used a sentiment I got from Michaels. Came out pretty cute! I just love the owls and pumpkins, so cute!

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Crafty Friends - #147 Embossing
Creative Moments - #200 AAG
Digi Choosday - #41 AAG

Polkadoodles - #43 AAG
QKR Stampede - #406
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Lots of Layers
Sweet Stampin - Girly/No Pink*
*Sentiment is a stamp

I made this card for our 32nd anniversary.
I used the Apple Blossom's That Embossing Folder and the extras you can get that go along with it, the scalloped, wavy border and the wavy sentiments. Found them all one Ebay.
The base is 5 x 7".  I made 2 embossed pcs of paper and turned one upside down, lined them up, attached them together, marked it and trimmed them down to fit the base pc w/ an 1/8" of the base pc showing all around.  I die cut the scalloped border, lined it up, marked it, cut it down to fit the top pc, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the front. I embellished it with pearls w/peach roses, darker peach rose flowers and a cross I had in my stash.

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Fall Sunflowers!

 Hi blogger friends!

I have a fall sunflower image to share today.

Entering in these challenges:

Allsorts - #591 Autumn Colors
Always Fun - #182 Dies
The Artsy Stamper - #24 Ribbons and Bows (Won Top 3!)

Polkadoodles - #39 AAG
QKR Stampede - #404 AAG
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything But a Card

*MMM - Senti tag was made from a scrap pc of paper

The base 2 paper layers of this card front (scalloped mirror and leaf print) was left over from some easel cards I made last fall which measures 6.5 x 7.25" from Tonic Sudio, and I decided it would be perfect for my new sunflower digi stamp I just got from Power Poppy called Sunflower Power. I printed it out on some white cardstock and used the Spellbinders Grand Labels One die to cut it out and colored it with my Copics and adhered it to the base layers. The sentiment is from Justrite Stamper's "Nature's Nested Sentiments" (no longer available) that I cut out with Spellbinder's Fancy Tags 1. Then I decorated it with some bling, a bow and some bugs I had in my stash. I'll probably make an easel card when all is said and done, or maybe I'll frame it, but this is the front of it.

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Thanks to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.

I saw a card like this on Pinterest and decided to give it a shot, but when all was said and done, I just did not like the way it turned out. I originally blended the colors with inks and sponges, but it was just not working. Plus, I had to start over a couple times 'cause I messed it up, bumping colors where they weren't suppose to be, plus a few other blunders. It started vertically as a book fold, but on the 3rd attempt, I decided to turn it horizontally as a tent fold.  Finally, I resigned myself that this was not happening, so I just started fiddling with it. I took some copics and blended it in all the different colors, and this is how it came out.   I also added some reflecton on the water with a Sakura gold, glitter, jelly roll pen and gave the flamingo some bling too! (See 3rd photo.)

Then I thought it could use a sentiment and a flower.

                 Reflection

Then one of the challenges was on the beach, so I took apart another card and added some sand.

Then I thought it could use a palm tree, so I took the tree off the the same card that I took the sand.

Ya know, sometimes it's just best to go with the clean and simple!

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

The cheese is from Spellbinders Wine Charms set, the Celebrate die is Anna Griffin, I got the leaves stamp from a seller on ebay and the white, scalloped background die is from Cheery Lynn's Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker Frames. (DL 271) After I put it all together and photographed it and posted it, I realized that swiss cheese isn't a yellow cheese. Oops! I used my copics to color the grapes, glass, bottle and top of the cork screw, and I used some gold and silver gilding wax for the top of the bottle and bottom of the cork screw.

Another 30th!

Hey my crafty friends!

I have another birthday card to share today.

Entering in these challenges:

Allsorts - #581 Flowers All Over*
Crafty Sentiments - AG
Creative Moments - AAG
Digi Choosday - #30 AAG
Penny's - #476 AAG
Polkadoodles - #30 AAG
The Paper Shelter - #AG
Tuesday Throwdown - #462 Fav Embellishments*
*Allsorts - flowers are around the center dies
*Fav Embellies - Pearls

I made this birthday card for my daughter-in-law's 30th. Her birthday is 3 wks after my son's and their anniversary is in between their birthdays, so the next card I make will be for their anniversary.

But I've been wanting to make a card with these Sue Wilson dies for a while and this is the perfect opportunity, I just love these! Sue makes such opulent dies and cards, so pretty. The borders are her Indonesian borders & corner dies and the center dies are her Peony Diamond. She also has a tutorial on Youtube that shows you how to extend the borders to make them longer and how to make this card, which is what I did, and you can see it here. After you skip the ad, you'll need to back up the video to the beginning.

The background paper is a carnival glass type paper that I can't remember where I got it from, possibly Paper Wishes, but it's just gorgeous. It shows you a different color depending on how you tip it in the light, from pinks to purple and everything in between. The very center die I cut out of the same paper, but I used my BV08 copic marker and made the outside darker so it would show up against the other 2 center dies. I embellished the whole thing with pearls and the sentiment is from the Anna Griffin mini birthday sticker kit.

The card is bigger than normal, the background paper is 7 1/8" x 6 1/2" and the whole card is 7 13/16ths x 7 3/8ths, and because it's bigger, if you look at the last picture of the back of the card, you'll notice the front purple base pc has a 1/2" overlap so I could attach it to another pc of purple paper the same size as the front of the card, if that makes sense. So the front and back are 2 pcs of paper that are attached to each other.

When I'm looking on Pinterest for ideas, I try to look for cards with elements that I already have in my stash.  When I saw this I thought to myself  "I can soooo do this" and here it is!

The card is 5-1/2" squared, the circle is a 4-1/4" pc of white paper that I inked with shades of yellow. The bottom is inked with shades of light brown. The senti is from Crafters Companion that I inked with shades of blue and yellow. I also daubbed some light teal blue ink around the edges of the light blue paper. To make the sand, I used a ball stylus and dotted several shades of light brown ink and one darker brown all over. I think I got this palm tree die on Ebay from a company in China years ago. The shell stickers are from K & Co. that I picked up from Michaels.

* Stitching on ribbon

I've been wanting to make a card with bright, summer colors and decided on this design from an idea on Pinterest. The ice cream images I had from a 3-D paper tolle sheet called Sweet Treats from Paper Wishes. The dotted and colored circles are cut with Spellbinder dies and the white circles are cut with a 1" paper punch. The green border is also Spellbinders. Then I took some orange ribbon and tied a knot in the middle and cut the ends at an angle and flashed a lighter flame over the ends to seal them  so they wouldn't fray. The sentiment is a taken from the Dazzles Painted Lace sheet also Paper Wishes.

I didn't have any summer colored striped paper, so I took this one from a DCWV pad, and took 5 copic markers and a ruler and filled in the white stripes with red, yellow, orange and green and went over the teal green with teal blue and it came out with this wonderful summer colored stripes!
