Wreath #5

 Hey fellow crafters!

Here's my 5th wreath and I think my piece de resistance!  And probably my last one for this year as I am now in full Christmas mode. I wanted to make a Christmas wreath but that's not going to happen. Too many other things I'm making for Christmas.

I saw one like this on Pinterest and decided to make it happen even though I wasn't quite sure how. I bought the Indian Corn from a seller on Ebay and went from there and just kinda winged it. I might update this post later as to how I made it but for right now I don't have the time. I have a lot of Christmas ornaments and cork art I'm making for gifts that I may post later but need to get them done first.

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Wreath #4

 Hey blogger peeps!

Here's wreath #4.

                   My son's

I liked the sunflower I made for my son so much I decided to make to make one for myself. This one's a little different in that the tricolor burlap is more of a closed plaid, where the other one is more of an open plaid, if that makes sense. I found it on Amazon and I snatched it up because it's no longer made and I was very glad and surprised to have found it. I wish I had gotten a few more rolls.

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Wreath #3

Hi crafty frinds!
Here's wreath #3.

I made this one I think in September. It's made with three different colors of Deco Mesh. But each "petal" is made with 2 different colors. It's called a heart wreath because the petals resemble a heart. The original one I copied it from didn't have as many petals, so I made more and filled it in. I think it looks better.
I ended up giving this one away to my sister for her birthday.

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Wreath #2

Hey blogger friends!
It's been a few months since my last post, and I have made a few more wreaths, but I just haven't put them up. But here's the 2nd one I made.

I gave this one to my other son Evan for a house warming gift when he moved in with his new roomies I think it was July or August. They hung it on the front door. This one is made out of Poly Burlap which is a little more durable than the deco mesh. I thought it turned out really nice, so did they.

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed stopping by!

So Excited!

Long time no see my crafty friends!

I'm really excited about a new craft I'm learning how to do, making wreaths!
These wreaths are made mostly with either deco mesh or poly burlap and here's my first one! I made this for my son's anniversary made out of white deco mesh with irridescent stripes I got from JoAnns.

I watched a tutorial on YouTube by Julie's Wreath Boutique. She's a pro at this. The cross frame I got from Dollar Tree and the lilies are from JoAnns. They are really high quality lilies and feel almost like the real thing.  For my first attempt I thought it turned out pretty nice. I hope to be doing more of these in the near future. I've seen these sell for up to $120.00. Not
a bad return.

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Long time no see everyone! It's been a couple months since my last post, which seems to be the norm. Can't seem to find the gumption to do a whole lot these days. First Father's Day without my husband. I think there will be alot of those "firsts" this year. His birthday was the Sunday before so it's been a rough couple weeks.
I know it's a couple days past Father's Day, but I made this card about 4 wks ago and I wanted to post it ever since, but then I got sick with Covid - again!    When it rains, it pours!

This is made with Anna Griffin's Antique Train Slimline Easel Die set, so dang cute, I just love it!! Pretty much every thing on here is AG. The base and the background dies I cut with a dark grey matte metallic paper. I cut the train with 3 different color matte metallic papers, then paper pieced the blue and copper into the brown. I cut some of the blue paper to look like curtains and put them behind the windows. The smoke, stars and sentiment embellishments I pulled from another AG set, I think the Gentlemen's Study Craft Box. You could add alot more embellishments, which I've seen on other makes, but I wanted to feature the train in all it's glory. Maybe next time.

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
Thanks to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.

QKR Stampede - #441 AAG

I made this card for my son Evan's 30th birthday. It's called a Triangle Corner Easel Card  or Triangle Corner Pop Up Card. He's not really into cars, more into trucks and motorcycles, but I had this stamp so I decided to use it. If I ever had the chance to get a vintage muscle car, it would be this, a Chevy Chevelle SS.

When looking at the instructions on how to make this, it says to start out with an 8"x 8" pc of card stock, but that would have made it 4" when all was said and done and I wanted it a little bigger. So I decide to go with a 12"x 12" base, which actually ended up being a little too big, but it turned out nice. If I make this again I think I'll go with a 10"x 10" base. You can go here to see the tutorial.

I've been MIA from making cards and from life for a few months as I have been dealing with the death of my husband. He died January 12th and it's just been now that I felt like I could get back to some sort of normality. I didn't think it would hit me so hard as we have been pretty much room mates and estranged for many years now. But I guess when you've been together for 33 years there's more of a bond than I thought. Through all of this I also have a new found admiration and respect for him that I didn't have before.
He was in the Navy for 8 yrs and a Vietnam vet and with the help of customers of mine who are 2 retired Navy captains, I found he had several medals, ribbons and awards that I didn't know he had and quite a career while he was in. One incident being the ship he was on was one of the ships that helped in the evacuation of Saigon. So quite deserving of the military honors he recieved.  I also found out from 3 nephew and nieces that he was thier favorite uncle, not to mention the love of our sons and his brothers and sisters, one being a twin brother.
He was also a believer in Jesus so I know where he is now and that he is no longer in anymore excrutiating pain and enjoying the wonders of heaven in his glorified body!   Hallelujah!

I started making this card over a year ago but never finished it till now.
It's mostly made with Anna Griffin's Twist and Pop card kit and a few other stamps and embellishments in my stash.
