Today's card was made from the Crafter's Companion oval accordion dies.
Boy, have you ever started a card and everything seems to go wrong? Well, that's what happened with this card and I almost scrapped it and said forget it. Finally I just walked away and slept on it and came back to it the next day and finally got it done. I hate days like that 'cause it takes the fun out of making cards. It's a good thing my love for making cards is greater than my frustrations.

Needless to say this was a bit of a difficult one to put together. I can't tell you how many pieces of paper I went through before I was happy with it. From paper warping and stress fractures to not aligning right, to sticking where it wasn't suppose to, to ripping. OMG! But, there she is!

I didn't have any letter dies this big so I computer generated and fussy cut them.

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
Thanks to the challengers above for lettin' me play along.

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Embossing
Tuesday Throwdown - #440 Pile It On

I finally got my hands on this embossing folder that I fell in love with after seeing a plethora of cards made with it on Pinterest. It's made by a UK Company called Apple Blossom and I found it on the website of a popular craft supplier called Craft Stash in the UK. The folder is called "THAT All Occasion" embossing folder and it was originally included as a freeby that was offered by a popular craft magazine over there a couple years ago and was a super big hit!

I embossed 3 different colors of paper and then fussy cut each one to make a
tri-colored card. I cut the base of the wreath with the smaller die from Anna Griffin's Wreath and Bow dies, and with the left over 6 papers, I punched a bunch of branches (about 10 ea color) using Martha Stewarts branch punch and glued each one to the base to make the wreath and added a bow.

I added a bunch of pearls from my stash and an autumn sentiment sticker from Michaels. You can't see it very well, but that pumpkin is a puffy pumpkin sticker also from Michaels.

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
Thanks to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.

I saw a version of this card on Pinterest and fell in love with it and these dies. They're from Tonic Studios and are the Memory Book Maker Layered Cascade Dies and the largest die is huge, 7 1/4" x 8". But my favorite is this scalloped die. The door and wreath dies are from Anna Griffin from the Christmas Wreath Set, The pumpkins and leaves are stickers from Michaels, the lights are a lamp post die that I just cut the post off and the corn stalks I can't remember what brand it is. The die under the senti is #3 Spellbinders scalloped oval die and the senti is from Close to My Heart the Autumn Splendor set. The brick paper is a digi download I got off of Etsy and printed out.

This is another cutey I colored from The Paper Shelter called Autumn is Coming!

The decorative hinge mechanism is also from Anna Griffin. Oops! Not centered very well is it!

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Back to School!

Mornin' my blogger friends!

I have a back to school box card to share today.

Entering in these challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge - #17 AAG
Allsorts - #534-5 Feminine
CRAFT - #525 Back to School (Won Top 3!)
Crafty Creations - #397 AAG (Won Top 3!)

Pin-spirational - #246 Back to School
Polkadoodles - #35 AAG
QKR Stampede - #361 AAG (WINNER!)
The Paper Shelter - #395 Back to School

I found this cute rectangle box die by Pink & Main on the Dies R Us website after seeing it used by Darlene Pavlick from Double D Challenges who is also on the design team for Dies R Us and thought it would make a cute back to school box card.

Most of the images are clip art that I found online and printed out.

The dies didn't come with a shadow layer die so I made my own by tracing around the outside of the dies and fusey cutting them.

This little cutey is a digi stamp from The Paper Shelter that I colored and is called "Learning is Fun".

I also added a piece of card stock to the back side of the box to extend it so I could add the bigger images and also reinforce it.

I can't remember where I got the 2 design papers from, but it came in a pak of
6 or 8 different designs.

Hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
