Joy to the World!

Hey blogger friends!

I have an ornament card to share today.

Entering in these challenges:
Allsorts - #603/4 Sparkle n Shine
Always Fun - #194 Christmas
Crafty Catz - #532 AAG/Something New
Digi Choosday - #51 AAG
The Holly and Ivy - #85 AAG/Christmas
Penny's - #486 AAG
QKR Stampede - #410 AAG
Sweet Stampin - Last Minute Christmas*
Tuesday Throwdown - #472 AG (Won Top 5!)
* - Sentiment is stamped

I found this ornament die on eBay and just fell in love with it, so pretty and ornate. Can't remember who it's by. I also saw a design like this on Pinterest and just had to try it 'cause I loved the colors. But I tell you what, trying to trace and cut out the different colors behind the different areas was not an easy task and it took me a good 4 hrs to finally get that done.
I used green, blue and purple matte mirror paper, the green is Anna Griffin's and the blu and purple is from Crafter's Companion, as is the ornament's blue glitter paper and the front sentiment stamp.  You can't see it in the photos, but that top white paper is a fine white glitter paper too from Crafter's Companion.
The corner die came in a die set by Christina Griffiths called Lacy Circles.
The inside ornament dies are Anna Griffin's Christmas Sentiments Dies.
The card base is 6 x 6".

AG Christmas Card!

 Merry Christmas Blogger friends!

I have an Anna Griffin card to share today'

Entering in these challenges:
Crafty Catz - #532 AAG/Something New
Crafty Hazelnuts - #521 AAG/Christmas-word

I made this card with Anna Griffin's Big Box Christmas Kit. This is a wonderful kit and has everything you need to make a quick card from the base card to all the embellishments, the background dies, bows and sentiments. It even has inserts for the inside sentiment. I made this for another cleaning client who I don't usually make a card for 'cause it's a dive shop, but I thought what the heck and basically threw this together.

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by.

So dang cute! This kit comes with all the mini accessories as well, wreaths, trees, garlands, background papers, etc., but not all the other dies do.

The front door opens, I made a little tree scene.

In the Garden Plaque!

Hi Crafty Friends!

I have a plaque I made to share today.

Entering in these challenges:
Allsorts - #601 Anything But a Card
Aud Sentiment - #265 AG
CRAFT - #579 Christmas Present
Penny's - #485 AAG
Polkadoodles - #49 AAG
QKR Stampede - #409 AAG
Tuesday Throwdown - #471 AG/Color of Love

Wow! I was pleasantly surprized at all the challenges that accepted craft items other than cards. I usually don't make anything else but cards, except every once in a while I'll find a craft project I want to try.
Like this plaque I made for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She had a similar one she wanted on Etsy that was going for $30.00. (choke!) So I thought, I can do this!  So I did! (I may have found a new source of income!)

I went to Michael's and found an unfinished, pine plaque, 8 x 10".
I already had some Americana, white, acrylic paints and gave it a couple of coats, letting it completely dry in between each coat.
It was a little rough, so I took a nail file block and smoothed it down a bit.
Then I did a search and found a free copy of the hymn "In the Garden"  and printed it out and cut it down to fit.
Then I marked on the plaque where the print would go and took some Mod Podge and put a coat of it right where the print would be so the paper would adhere to the plaque and hopefully not buckle or bubble when the top coat was applied, (Worked like a charm!)
Then I applied a top coat of Mod Podge over the entire top surface. There was a couple of places that started to bubble, but I was able to press it down with my finger and go over it with more Mod Podge. Came out really nice!
While it was drying, I hooked up my Silhouette to my laptop and found some bouncy lettering I got from the Silhouette store and cut out the letters from some black vinyl I had from my Cricut stash and eye-balled them and stuck them on the front.
Then to make it look distressed and weathered, I took a rasp and filed the edges down a bit and took my E 73 (taupe) and N 3 (gray)copics, and went over where I rasped.
I remember seeing some metal, sawtooth hardware in my husband's misc. stash in the garage, that I centered on the back and nailed it in with some tiny nails so she could hang it on the wall. And voila!

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Polkadoodles - #46 AAG
QKR Stampede - #408 AAG
Tuesday Throwdown - #469-470 Candy / Thanks
* Catch the Bug - 3 Layers, Dies, Distressed

Today's card is made with Anna Griffin's new Christmas door dies and brick embossing folders. It's 5.5 x 7.5", and after I embossed the bricks, I took my brayer and some brick colored ink and rolled over the bricks which made them look distressed, then I took one of my gray copic markers and filled in between the bricks and along the sides, I really like the way it turned out. I cut the door dies and all the accessories and made a dining room background for the inside of the door which is made to open. and adhered it to the front and assembled all the pieces. I cut out a background die and a couple of label dies (all Anna Griffin) and adhered them to the inside and stamped the cornicopia and senti to the smallest label die and colored it with my copics. I punched out a bunch of branches (Martha Stewart's) in different colors and made a wreath for the front of the door. All the accessory pieces came in the set.

Thankful Face!

Evening blogger friends!

I have an Arthur the owl card to share today.

Entering in these challenges:

Allsorts - #598 AAG All Things Bright
Always Fun - #188 Thank You
Crafty Catz - #527 AAG/Outdoor Pursuits
Creative Moments - #202 AAG
Dies R Us - #157 Happy Fall Y'all!

Penny's - #484 AAG
Polkadoodles - #45 AAG
QKR Stampede - #407 AAG
Tuesday Throwdown - #469 & 470 Candy/ Sending Thanks

One of my cleaning clients, who is also a card maker, got these Tim Holtz Arthur the Owl dies and I just fell in love with him and had to have them and this my version. This is really a fun die to work with, but the hardest part is deciding which colors to use. After that it's like putting together a puzzle, although there's a lot of small pieces to this puzzle. I chose  fall colors and a snarky thankful theme, which was computer generated, just seemed to fit. The card started out to be 6 x 8" to house Arthur's large size, (5 1/8 x 2 7/8") but somehow the base ended up being wonky, so I tried to even the sides by cutting them down and whittled it down to 5 7/8 x 7 5/8". The blue, stars, mirror, background paper is from Hunkydory's Glittering Galaxies 8 x 8" Mirri Pad, the trees die I got on Ebay, can't remember whose it is. The fence and metallic leaves are from Michael's, the pumpkins is an older foam die from my stash, (?) and the moon was cut with a Spellbinders round die.

Polkadoodles - #43 AAG
QKR Stampede - #406 AAG
The Paper Shelter - #446 Halloween Colors
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Lots of Layers

It's supposed to get down into the low 30's for the next couple of days. It was a chilly, windy day today.

I made this card with the Sunny Studios Happy Owl-o-ween dies and stamps and the Pretty Pumpkins layering stamps and dies and I can't remember where I got the trees die from. The base card is an odd size 5 7/16" square, because I cut the tree dies and then made the base around them with about 1 1/2" space at the bottom. I used blending brushes to make the back ground colors of green yellow, orange and pink with Memento dew drop inks. I stamped and colored the owls with my copics then die cut them. I stamped and layered the pumpkins, again, with the yellow and orange family of Memento inks, then used my copics to give them hilights, and cut them out. I cut a pc of burlap and glued the edges to keep them from fraying and used a sentiment I got from Michaels. Came out pretty cute! I just love the owls and pumpkins, so cute!

QKR Stampede - #406
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Lots of Layers
Sweet Stampin - Girly/No Pink*
*Sentiment is a stamp

I made this card for our 32nd anniversary.
I used the Apple Blossom's That Embossing Folder and the extras you can get that go along with it, the scalloped, wavy border and the wavy sentiments. Found them all one Ebay.
The base is 5 x 7".  I made 2 embossed pcs of paper and turned one upside down, lined them up, attached them together, marked it and trimmed them down to fit the base pc w/ an 1/8" of the base pc showing all around.  I die cut the scalloped border, lined it up, marked it, cut it down to fit the top pc, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the front. I embellished it with pearls w/peach roses, darker peach rose flowers and a cross I had in my stash.

Fall Sunflowers!

 Hi blogger friends!

I have a fall sunflower image to share today.

Entering in these challenges:

Allsorts - #591 Autumn Colors
Always Fun - #182 Dies
The Artsy Stamper - #24 Ribbons and Bows (Won Top 3!)
Crafty Catz - #520 AAG/Autumn Colors

Penny's - #480 AAG
Polkadoodles - #39 AAG
QKR Stampede - #404 AAG
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything But a Card

*MMM - Senti tag was made from a scrap pc of paper

The base 2 paper layers of this card front (scalloped mirror and leaf print) was left over from some easel cards I made last fall which measures 6.5 x 7.25" from Tonic Sudio, and I decided it would be perfect for my new sunflower digi stamp I just got from Power Poppy called Sunflower Power. I printed it out on some white cardstock and used the Spellbinders Grand Labels One die to cut it out and colored it with my Copics and adhered it to the base layers. The sentiment is from Justrite Stamper's "Nature's Nested Sentiments" (no longer available) that I cut out with Spellbinder's Fancy Tags 1. Then I decorated it with some bling, a bow and some bugs I had in my stash. I'll probably make an easel card when all is said and done, or maybe I'll frame it, but this is the front of it.

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
