*CRAFT - The Elf on the Shelf Birthday Edition

I made this birthday card for my son a couple weeks ago and totally forgot to enter and post it until now. The whole card is made with Anna Griffin products and primarily from the Salon Nouveau card making kit which I think is one of the best one she has come out with. It has a more modern genre to it where most of the others are more vintage/Victorian. The kit even comes with inside sentiment inserts that I decorated with vellum, a card topper, a rub on and a die cut.

A card within a card.

      Inside

This is one of Anna's foiled, vellum layers and a birthday card topper.

The pine cones are from Anna's Christmas Greenery rub ons, and the dog is a die cut from the Vintage Decopage Die Cuts.

The base card is 6 x 6", and pretty much everything but the butterfly and bow is from the Dogwood collection. I just got the Botanical Window die and also wanted to use it.

On a personal note, I would personally like to thank all the challengers who have stuck with it during these difficult times. I know of a few who have not and decided to close shop. I just wanted to say I appreciate all of you and thank you! And God bless you!

Easter Blessings!

Hi there blogger friends!
Long time no post!  I've kinda been in a card making funk lately with no desire to make anything.  It's been almost 4 months since I've made or posted any cards. I wanted to make a Valentine's and St Patrick's card but never got to it. But here's my 1st card since New Years with an Easter blessing.

Entering in these challenges:

Allsorts - #617/618 AG/Monochromatic
CRAFT - #592 Easter/Spring
Creative Fingers - #204 AAG
Creative Moments - #211 AAG
Cute Card Thursday - #679 Easter
Digi Choosday - #12 AAG
Fab n Funky - #516 Flowers
Make My Monday - #145 Easter/Spring
Penny's - #492 AAG
Polkadoodles - #12 AAG
QKR Stampede - #416 AAG
The Paper Shelter - #462 Add Flowers
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Easter/Spring (Won Top 3!)

I saw this sun rays embossing folder on a few cards and fell in love with it but couldn't find it anywhere because it's retired. So I decided to make my own. Cricut/Provo Craft put out a create an embossing folder kit quite awhile ago and I've had a couple sitting in my one of my craft drawers. So I pulled it out, followed the instructions and voila!
It's actually a little more detailed than that 'cause you have to create an embossed impression on one side, and a debossed impression on the other and it took quite awhile, but anyway, it worked and there it is!

The stitched background and lattice dies are from Sue Wilson, the window is Crafter's Companion, the metallic paper, ribbon, butterfly, cross and flower stickers are from Michaels, and the inside senti background is from an Anna Griffin Sentiment Kit.

Joy to the World!

Hey blogger friends!

I have an ornament card to share today.

Entering in these challenges:
Allsorts - #603/4 Sparkle n Shine
Always Fun - #194 Christmas
Crafty Catz - #532 AAG/Something New
Digi Choosday - #51 AAG

Penny's - #486 AAG
QKR Stampede - #410 AAG
Sweet Stampin - Last Minute Christmas*
Tuesday Throwdown - #472 AG (Won Top 5!)
* - Sentiment is stamped

I found this ornament die on eBay and just fell in love with it, so pretty and ornate. Can't remember who it's by. I also saw a design like this on Pinterest and just had to try it 'cause I loved the colors. But I tell you what, trying to trace and cut out the different colors behind the different areas was not an easy task and it took me a good 4 hrs to finally get that done.
I used green, blue and purple matte mirror paper, the green is Anna Griffin's and the blu and purple is from Crafter's Companion, as is the ornament's blue glitter paper and the front sentiment stamp.  You can't see it in the photos, but that top white paper is a fine white glitter paper too from Crafter's Companion.
The corner die came in a die set by Christina Griffiths called Lacy Circles.
The inside ornament dies are Anna Griffin's Christmas Sentiments Dies.
The card base is 6 x 6".

AG Christmas Card!

 Merry Christmas Blogger friends!

I have an Anna Griffin card to share today'

Entering in these challenges:
Crafty Catz - #532 AAG/Something New
Crafty Hazelnuts - #521 AAG/Christmas-word

I made this card with Anna Griffin's Big Box Christmas Kit. This is a wonderful kit and has everything you need to make a quick card from the base card to all the embellishments, the background dies, bows and sentiments. It even has inserts for the inside sentiment. I made this for another cleaning client who I don't usually make a card for 'cause it's a dive shop, but I thought what the heck and basically threw this together.

So dang cute! This kit comes with all the mini accessories as well, wreaths, trees, garlands, background papers, etc., but not all the other dies do.

The front door opens, I made a little tree scene.

In the Garden Plaque!

Hi Crafty Friends!

I have a plaque I made to share today.

Allsorts - #601 Anything But a Card
Aud Sentiment - #265 AG
CRAFT - #579 Christmas Present
Penny's - #485 AAG
Polkadoodles - #49 AAG
QKR Stampede - #409 AAG
Tuesday Throwdown - #471 AG/Color of Love

Wow! I was pleasantly surprized at all the challenges that accepted craft items other than cards. I usually don't make anything else but cards, except every once in a while I'll find a craft project I want to try.
Like this plaque I made for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She had a similar one she wanted on Etsy that was going for $30.00. (choke!) So I thought, I can do this!  So I did! (I may have found a new source of income!)

I went to Michael's and found an unfinished, pine plaque, 8 x 10".
I already had some Americana, white, acrylic paints and gave it a couple of coats, letting it completely dry in between each coat.
It was a little rough, so I took a nail file block and smoothed it down a bit.
Then I did a search and found a free copy of the hymn "In the Garden"  and printed it out and cut it down to fit.
Then I marked on the plaque where the print would go and took some Mod Podge and put a coat of it right where the print would be so the paper would adhere to the plaque and hopefully not buckle or bubble when the top coat was applied, (Worked like a charm!)
Then I applied a top coat of Mod Podge over the entire top surface. There was a couple of places that started to bubble, but I was able to press it down with my finger and go over it with more Mod Podge. Came out really nice!
While it was drying, I hooked up my Silhouette to my laptop and found some bouncy lettering I got from the Silhouette store and cut out the letters from some black vinyl I had from my Cricut stash and eye-balled them and stuck them on the front.
Then to make it look distressed and weathered, I took a rasp and filed the edges down a bit and took my E 73 (taupe) and N 3 (gray)copics, and went over where I rasped.
I remember seeing some metal, sawtooth hardware in my husband's misc. stash in the garage, that I centered on the back and nailed it in with some tiny nails so she could hang it on the wall. And voila!

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
