Hey my crafty friends!
I have another birthday card to share today.
Entering in these challenges:
Allsorts - #581 Flowers All Over*
Crafty Sentiments - AG
Creative Moments - AAG
Digi Choosday - #30 AAG
Penny's - #476 AAG
Polkadoodles - #30 AAG
The Paper Shelter - #AG
Tuesday Throwdown - #462 Fav Embellishments*
*Allsorts - flowers are around the center dies
*Fav Embellies - Pearls
I made this birthday card for my daughter-in-law's 30th. Her birthday is 3 wks after my son's and their anniversary is in between their birthdays, so the next card I make will be for their anniversary.
But I've been wanting to make a card with these Sue Wilson dies for a while and this is the perfect opportunity, I just love these! Sue makes such opulent dies and cards, so pretty. The borders are her Indonesian borders & corner dies and the center dies are her Peony Diamond. She also has a tutorial on Youtube that shows you how to extend the borders to make them longer and how to make this card, which is what I did, and you can see it here. After you skip the ad, you'll need to back up the video to the beginning.
The background paper is a carnival glass type paper that I can't remember where I got it from, possibly Paper Wishes, but it's just gorgeous. It shows you a different color depending on how you tip it in the light, from pinks to purple and everything in between. The very center die I cut out of the same paper, but I used my BV08 copic marker and made the outside darker so it would show up against the other 2 center dies. I embellished the whole thing with pearls and the sentiment is from the Anna Griffin mini birthday sticker kit.
The card is bigger than normal, the background paper is 7 1/8" x 6 1/2" and the whole card is 7 13/16ths x 7 3/8ths, and because it's bigger, if you look at the last picture of the back of the card, you'll notice the front purple base pc has a 1/2" overlap so I could attach it to another pc of purple paper the same size as the front of the card, if that makes sense. So the front and back are 2 pcs of paper that are attached to each other.
That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
Thanks to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.
Blessings!

Tuesday Throwdown - #461 Polkadots * (sand)
When I'm looking on Pinterest for ideas, I try to look for cards with elements that I already have in my stash. When I saw this I thought to myself "I can soooo do this" and here it is!
The card is 5-1/2" squared, the circle is a 4-1/4" pc of white paper that I inked with shades of yellow. The bottom is inked with shades of light brown. The senti is from Crafters Companion that I inked with shades of blue and yellow. I also daubbed some light teal blue ink around the edges of the light blue paper. To make the sand, I used a ball stylus and dotted several shades of light brown ink and one darker brown all over. I think I got this palm tree die on Ebay from a company in China years ago. The shell stickers are from K & Co. that I picked up from Michaels.
That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

* Stitching on ribbon
I've been wanting to make a card with bright, summer colors and decided on this design from an idea on Pinterest. The ice cream images I had from a 3-D paper tolle sheet called Sweet Treats from Paper Wishes. The dotted and colored circles are cut with Spellbinder dies and the white circles are cut with a 1" paper punch. The green border is also Spellbinders. Then I took some orange ribbon and tied a knot in the middle and cut the ends at an angle and flashed a lighter flame over the ends to seal them so they wouldn't fray. The sentiment is a taken from the Dazzles Painted Lace sheet also Paper Wishes.
I didn't have any summer colored striped paper, so I took this one from a DCWV pad, and took 5 copic markers and a ruler and filled in the white stripes with red, yellow, orange and green and went over the teal green with teal blue and it came out with this wonderful summer colored stripes!
That's it for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!

Celebrate!
Hey blogger friends!
I have another 4th of July card to share today.
Entering in these challenges:
A Bit More Time to Craft - #119 AAG
A Gem of a Challenge - #14 AAG
Always Fun - #171 Red, White and Blue
Cardz 4 Guyz - #248 Red, White & Blue
Crafty Sentiments - AG
Cute Card Thursday - #641 AG
Dies R Us - #148 AG
Digi Choosday - #26 AAG
Double D - Stitches
Make My Monday - #126 Stars & Stripes
Penny's - #474 AAG
Polkadoodles - #27 AAG
QKR Stampede - #AAG
The Paper Shelter - #434 Use a Sentiment
I made this card yesterday, the 4th as well, because I wanted to get two July 4th cards done. I didn't even go out to watch any fireworks last night I was so focused on getting these cards done. We live on a hill, and we usually go further up the hill and watch all the neighbors light off all their fireworks all around us and I have to say they are pretty impressive. And from what I heard last night, this year was no exception. Collectively, they must spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on fireworks. I think one of my neighbors must have a pyrotechnics license because his fireworks are huge.
Anyway, I saw this one card and remembered I had some stickers similar to the die they used. So I followed the same design, but used what I had on hand. The stickers are from Michaels, the senti is from Anna Griffin's word dies, and the stars above and below the senti is washi tape.

Tuesday Throwdown - #460 AG
*Double D - the America sticker, square and quilt pcs have stitching around them
I worked on this card most of the day yesterday, the 4th, but it took a little longer than I expected, so it didn't get it done in time to post on the 4th, and after I finished around 1 am, I was too tired to post it, so here it is, a day late, on the 5th.
I've been wanting to use this square, Quilt Cover Up die from Die namics for a long time now and saw some ideas on Pinterest and here's how mine came out. The sentiment is from Anna Griffin, and the America cloth sticker and flowers I got from Michaels. The flowers were white and I colored them red and blue with my copics. I didn't have any red & white striped paper so I took the white pieces and a ruler and drew the stripes on with my red copic.
That's all for now, hope you enjoyed stoppin' by!
