I had a blast making these tulips! I've seen these cards all over Pinterest and have been wanting to make one, but you have to have the Stampin' Up Punches to do that and came to find out that two of them are discontinued. Bummer! Then, I house/cat sat for one of my cleaning clients who has a craft room to die for, and found out she has every single punch needed to make these. I was in heaven!!
Then I found out there are a couple different punches you can use to make these as well, and I already have one of them, which will be my next project.
This particular one uses the Stampin' Up Build an Owl Punch, a 1 1/2" or 2" oval punch, and a 2 1/2" round punch to make the leaves. There's a couple tutorials on youtube you can watch to see specifically how to make them, Valita's Fresh Folds has an excellent one here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPIYfxTQo2c, and here's a picture of basically how to make your petals.
Now, instead of only getting one petal per owl like this shows, you can get 2 petals per owl by not making it so big and only cutting in half way, which is what I did.
I saw one gal who cut the petals freehand with scissors instead of using the long oval punch. (that other lavender tulip on the left was made from the wing of the build a bird punch.)
Thanks for stoppin' by,
and thanks to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.
Blessings!
