Christmas in March!!

Hey blogger friends!

This Christmas card I made from one of the Anna Griffin Fantastic Flip card kits.

Her genre of embellishments is more of an old fashioned, Victorian type that she uses in her kits, which isn't really my thing.
But I'm all about the swing mechanism feature and that it's a tri fold card.
And that she also includes the die to make more cards after the kit runs out. Awesome!

I actually have four of her kits which I can't wait to dive into.

Entering in this challenge:
Fab-n-Funky - #344  Christmas (Won top 3!)

These are the other 2 label shapes and kits. The 4th one I have is the window box kit.

I'm going to have a card making class for the ladies at my church using the 3 of these kits.
Should be fun!

Until next time!
Blessings.

Hmmmm....

Hi all!

This is another card from the Rustic Cottage Collection by Crafters Companion.

It's suppose to be a card that opens from the side, but when I went to cut the border on the designer paper on the front, I had the paper turned wrong. So now it's a card that opens from the top!

Hmmmm, I should turn it into a pop-up card.

And the designer paper was suppose to be cut with the straight edge die, not the filigree. Oh well.

That's what I get for trying to finish it at 2:00a in the morning.

Gotta Love New Toys!

Mornin' blogger friends!

I just got the Crafters Companion Rustic Cottage Collection of paper, dies and embossing folders and I have been having a ball with them! The whole kit is so pretty.
And this is one of the cards I have made so far.
Love that border die!

Inky Chicks - #80 Flowers
Penny's - #321 Anything Goes
QKR Stampede - #236  Spring/Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #126 Anything Goes

I'm so disappointed with this brown cardstock I used.  After scoring it for the fold, just from opening it a few times, it started to fall apart. So I had to reinforce the fold with another piece if cream paper so the front wouldn't fall off. Then I tried to match the color by using my copics which worked ok.

Thanks for takin' a peek.

Corner Die

Hi to all blogger friends!

I saw this next card (again on you tube) and had to make it, which meant I had to get the dies.

The tutorial is by Christina Griffiths (whom I also get a news letter from) who is also a brilliant card maker. Gorgeous cards, and this one is no exception.

After getting the dies from ebay, (which is a set of 2 for around 25.00)) I went to work.  Mine is pretty much exactly like hers, following the tutorial almost to the letter.

Mine and hers are made as a wedding card, but you could make it for anything else; Mother's Day, Easter, sympathy, birthday, anniversary, etc, and can use colored paper.
This is just white on white which is so pretty.

Now that I know how to make it, I'm going to play with different colors and themes.

This also has 3 layers to it, which I guess you have to do if you want to emboss the front without messing up the corner die or vise versa.

                    I just learned how to use that border die, so fun!

On the back was really pretty too, it has a pocket for an extra sentiment, if you like, made from the other die in the set which is a little smaller than the other. Both dies are glittered.

The two corner dies are from;
-Heartfelt Creations/Spellbinderes: Decorative Blossoms Corner Die
The two sentiment dies I used are:
-Spellbinders Labels 14 & 20
The border dies on the front bottom are:
-Spellbinders A-2 scalloped border one dies
The embossing folder I used is from:
-Crafters Companion and came in the configuration when I bought the Gemini
-Flowers, ribbon, glitter and pearls, are from my stash
Made the triple bow with the:
-Bow it all by Zutters

Hope you enjoyed taking a look.
Thanks and blessings!

Never Ending Card

Hey blogger friends,

I found this card in the Crafter's Companion summer idea book, and found a tutorial on youtube.
This never ending card is oh so tricksey!!!

Entering in these challenges:
Aud Sentiment - #176 Anything But Birthday
Creative Fingers - #126 Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers - #185 Spring Into Spring
Creative Moments - #114 Anything Goes/Spring Colors
Pammy's Inky Pinkies - #1713 Anything Goes

It starts out looking like a gate fold card;

Then as you open it, you come to the 1st reveal;

Then from the middle, you open it up to the 2nd reveal;

Then again, from the middle, you open it up to the 3rd reveal;

And once more, opening it up, you're back to the beginning.

This is, by far, thee most genius card I have ever seen and made!!
And it's actually quite simple! And fun.

You start out with 4 pieces of card stock, these ones are 3"x 6".
You can make it any size you want, but the 4 pcs have to be twice as long as it is wide.

Now I'm not going to explain all the details, but you can go to you tube and search for "never ending card" and watch the tutorial like I did.

There are several, but the gal I liked the best was the one who numbered the fronts and backs of the card stock, which made it way more easy to understand.

 The hardest part was trying to decide which paper to use to decorate it and how.

The paper I chose is from the "Coral Couture Stack" by DCWV.
(Die Cuts With a View)
Turned out really nice I think!

A lot more fun to come!
Thanks and be blessed!

1st Cards for 2017

Hey blogger world,

It's been 4 yrs since my last post, a lot of life has happened since then, but I won't bore you with the details.

It's so good to be back making cards again, I've missed it so much.
This is a no brainer, reeaally simple.  But I needed something simple to start with.

I bought this card kit by Paper Wishes from a 24 hr craft event at HSN in Nov/Dec. (?)
The kit is called "Gilded Movable Cards" which are all pretty much 3-D.

This one is a twisted easel card.   Pretty cute.

There are two other designs, with 4 different themes or scenes for each design.

                          - a regular window easel

                        - and a center stage

They're actually pretty easy to punch out and put together with an animated cutesy look.
But I liked the 3-D aspect of them.

That's it for now.
Blessings,
Pam D
